Nikki Sixx Fuels Guns N' Roses Reunion Speculation

Nikki Sixx Fuels Guns N' Roses Reunion Speculation:

Rumors that Guns N' Roses will reunite its original lineup have been circulating since Slash announced he had mended fences with Axl Rose earlier this year. While the group itself has been silent, Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx claims it's a done deal. When asked by a fan if he thinks G N' R should do a reunion tour, the bassist – who, it should be noted, is known for his impish sense of humor – recently replied in all capital letters, "THEY ARE. EVERYBODY KNOWS."

One thing that might give him alleged insider status is the fact that outside of Crüe, a band that engaged in a bitter feud with Guns N' Roses in the late Eighties when singer Vince Neil took a swing at Guns guitarist Izzy Stradlin at the MTV Video Music Awards, Sixx plays with hard-rockers Sixx:A.M. The guitarist for that group is DJ Ashba, who recently quit Guns N' Roses after a six-year stint. The bassist is currently on Crüe's final tour, which will wrap up next month.

Blabbermouth reports, though, that another credible source is already disputing Sixx's claim. Vicky Hamilton, who managed G N' R and Poison in their early careers and who, the site claims, serves as a managing consultant with Mötley Crüe, posted to Facebook recently that she "was texting with Slash who is on tour ... he says the G N' R tour isn't happening."

Although Slash never mentioned a reunion, speculation began in May when he told CBS This Morning that the "tension ... has dissipated" between Rose and him, following decades of bitter rivalry. "We don't have all those issues anymore," he said. "There's not a lot of controversy."

In August, he told another reporter that he was speaking to Rose again. "It was probably way overdue," he said. "But it's very cool at this point to dispel some of that negative stuff that was going on for so long." Over the summer, fans thirsty for the original lineup became more excited when guitarists Ashba and Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal revealed that they were leaving the group.

Through it all, though, no official sources or current or past members of the band have confirmed a reunion. The Guns N' Roses Twitter account even issued a series of quizzical tweets earlier this week. "What ever happened to no news is good news?" the first one began. "Of course, today everyone is a journalist. If only they could read lips ... Surely they'll read between the lines."
