Five Finger Death Punch Cancel Milan Concert Over Terror Threat

Five Finger Death Punch Cancel Milan Concert Over Terror Threat:

Five Finger Death Punch canceled their scheduled concert in Milan Sunday following reports that their show in the Italian city was potentially a target for an ISIS terror attack. A subgroup of the hacktivist group Anonymous claimed to have intercepted messages between pro-ISIS accounts suggesting that the terror group was preparing a Milan attack, the International Business Times reports (via Blabbermouth). While Anonymous later backed away from the subgroup's findings, the metal band still postponed their Milan concert as a precaution.

"As some of you may be aware, there were many rumors today that the Milan show on Sunday, November 22nd will be targeted in a next wave of terror attacks like we saw in Paris last week," the band wrote in a statement posted on their Facebook. "We did our best in a very short amount of time to work with the local promoter and authorities to ensure that security would be adequate. Unfortunately, we did not receive confirmation in time to satisfy our requirements and to ensure that our fans would be safe at the event. Therefore, we were forced to postpone the show to a later date."

The Five Finger Death Punch concert was just one target on an unsubstantiated list of potential targets a week after the Paris terror attacks that claimed the lives of over 120 people, most of whom where attending an Eagles of Death Metal concert at the Bataclan. The list of targets also named the WWE Survivor Series event in Atlanta Sunday night; the FBI was made aware of the threat and promised "to work closely with our law-enforcement and private-sector partners to keep our community safe."

However, after the potential target list circulated, the main Anonymous faction denied they were responsible for the list, tweeting on their official account, "We did not spread any rumors about possible future ISIS attacks, and frankly, we do not know where the rumors come from."
