Hear Savages' Vicious New Song 'T.I.W.Y.G.'

Hear Savages' Vicious New Song 'T.I.W.Y.G.':

Savages have followed up their first Adore Life single, "The Answer" with the vicious, rapid "T.I.W.Y.G." The British post-punk band's sophomore album will be out on January 22nd via Matador.

On the new track, lead singer Jehnny Beth repeats "this is what you get when you mess with love" over the increasingly aggressive guitar and drums. It follows the propulsive "The Answer," which had Beth singing "love is the answer."

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Beth noted that Adore Life would be a more intense follow-up to the band's powerful 2013 debut Silence Yourself. "We wanted to write the hardest, most extreme songs we could every write," she said in May, noting that they had been sequestered in a tiny studio in Primrose Hill, North London while making the album. "But the room was really small so we started to write ballads. We were like, 'What the fuck is going on?' We had to move out eventually."

Chris Stapleton, Kenny Rogers Join CMT's 'Artists of the Year'

Chris Stapleton, Kenny Rogers Join CMT's 'Artists of the Year':

CMT has revealed two of the recipients of special honors during its upcoming Artists of the Year special. The network's sixth annual event, which singles out the year's biggest acts in country music, airs live from Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Wednesday, December 2nd, and will feature performances from some of 2015's most buzzworthy acts. That certainly describes the first CMT Artists of the Year Breakout Award recipient, singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, who will perform during the telecast. Stapleton continues on his post-CMA Awards high as his LP Traveller tops the country chart as well as the all-genre Billboard 200.

The iconic Kenny Rogers will also be honored during the special, receiving the Artist of a Lifetime award, presented by Ram Trucks. The "Gambler" singer is only the second recipient of the award. Last year's inaugural honor went to Merle Haggard.

"You go through your life and your career and you try to do the right things and make the right decisions," Rogers says of the recognition in a statement. "You don't always do that, but I have been very lucky. I am grateful for it all. This is a great honor and one I highly treasure. Being in with Merle Haggard on anything is always a thrill. To CMT, the fans, and all who made this incredible award possible, I can't thank you enough."

The 90-minute special will focus on the five acts who have dominated CMT's platforms as well as country radio in 2015. The five Artists of the Year for 2015 are Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt. More performers, presenters and special guests will be revealed in the weeks to come.

Bruce Springsteen Headed to 'Saturday Night Live'

Bruce Springsteen Headed to 'Saturday Night Live':

This December, Bruce Springsteen will return to Saturday Night Live for the first time since 2002. On December 19th, he will be the musical guest on a show co-hosted by SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who will co-star in the new film Sisters later this year.

Springsteen's episode comes just before the holiday break and follows a stacked holiday line-up. On December 5th, soul newcomer Leon Bridges will be the musical guest on an episode hosted by first-time host Ryan Gosling. Chris Hemsworth will be hosting for the second time this year on December 12th and will be joined by first-time musical guest Chance the Rapper.

Springsteen has been the show's musical guest twice in its 40-year history. He made his SNL debut in 1992 alongside host Tom Hanks and appeared later in the Matt Damon 2002 episode. In 2011, his still-growing list of collectors' edition box sets was parodied by the show with host Ben Stiller playing the rocker and Fred Armisen playing Steve Van Zandt. In the fake commercial, Stiller as Springsteen debuts a new box set called Bruce Springsteen: Just the Stories containing all his between-song anecdotes, including "My Brother Gave Me a Haircut With a Buck-knife" and "This One Time We All Got Bandanas." Stiller has previously played Springsteen in a 1998 MTV skit that cast the singer as a huge Puff Daddy fan.

As SNL celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this year, Springsteen also celebrated a 40th anniversary for his iconic album Born to Run.

Rita Wilson Announces New Album, Spring Tour

Rita Wilson Announces New Album, Spring Tour:

Actress and musician Rita Wilson will release her self-titled second LP early in 2016 and is taking the new music on the road. The singer-songwriter co-wrote all the tunes on her follow-up to 2012's AM/FM, teaming with some of Nashville's top tunesmiths for the project, including Matraca Berg, Jessi Alexander, Jon Randall, the Warren Brothers and Kristian Bush. Producers on the new LP include Nathan Chapman, Richard Marx, John Shanks and Babyface.

Wilson's tour will kick off in March, stopping in more than 20 cities across the U.S., including Los Angeles, Austin, Boston, Chicago and Nashville. Before hitting the road, Wilson will settle in for a residency at New York's Café Carlyle, from February 23rd to March 5th. Pre-sale ticket information is available on her website.

Born in Hollywood, Wilson, who is married to Oscar winner Tom Hanks, is recognized for her numerous onscreen roles in films (Sleepless in Seattle, It's Complicated) and TV (The Good Wife, Girls), as well as in live theater. A friendship with famed songwriter — and former American Idol judge — Kara DioGuardi was the encouragement she needed to try her hand at co-writing, in spite of what she says made for some initially awkward encounters.

"It was really nerve-racking, because you go in, meet complete strangers and expose yourself," Wilson tells Rolling Stone Country of her earliest efforts. "You leave there after you've had musical intercourse, and you're left with a beautiful song baby. [Laughs] You have to be open to everything and let it all hang out without any sort of protection. That's what I find so humbling is that people are willing to do that."

Here are the dates on Rita Wilson's spring tour.

Rosanne Cash on Paris: 'We Have to Book the Bataclan This Year'

Rosanne Cash on Paris: 'We Have to Book the Bataclan This Year':

Concert calendars throughout Europe continue to shift this week, while musicians and booking agents struggle with major security concerns raised by the recent terrorist attacks in Paris.

But for Rosanne Cash, who performed 25 years ago at the Bataclan, where nearly 100 music fans were killed during a massacre at last weekend's Eagles of Death Metal concert, the horrific tragedy only increases her desire to make a return appearance. "As soon as this happened, I called my manager and said, ‘We have to book the Bataclan this year,'" she told The New York Times.

Cash first performed at the venue in 1990, during her Interiors tour. "It was one of those nights when every moment was beautiful," she tells Rolling Stone. Her then-husband Rodney Crowell was with her that night too, and the couple ended the evening with a late-night dinner at a nearby restaurant, where they received a standing ovation from other hungry patrons who'd just left the same concert hall.

Members of the Cadillac Three, who wrapped up a short U.K. tour just one day before the Parisian attacks, echo Cash's sentiments. Drummer Neil Mason says the guys have no plans to scrap their return trip in January.

"I think it's important that everyone comes together and and says, 'This is not the way the majority of the world wants to treat each other,' and music is a good outlet for that," he tells Rolling Stone Country. "To see people coming together and being part of a crowd again, right after those attacks — that's standing up to it. Because the truth of the matter is, what terrorists want is for people to hide. They want people to cancel shows. And we're not gonna do that."

Country headliner Brantley Gilbert, however, has pulled the plug on his Black Out Tour, returning home after just three shows in Germany and the Netherlands, while artists like Kacey Musgraves and American Aquarium are moving forward with their own overseas runs. And once January hits, the Cadillac Three, John Moreland, Jason Isbell and Rod Picott will all kick off European tours, with one show — Isbell and Moreland's January 18th engagement at La Maroquinerie — occurring less than 1.5 miles from the Bataclan.

The Weeknd, Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris Top Hangout Lineup

The Weeknd, Florence and the Machine, Calvin Harris Top Hangout Lineup:

The Hangout Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama fired the opening salvo of the 2016 festival season, announcing a stacked lineup featuring the Weeknd, Florence and the Machine and Calvin Harris as headliners.

The eclectic array of artists set to take one of the festival's beachside stages also includes Alabama Shakes, Ellie Goulding, Cage the Elephant, Haim, Lenny Kravitz, Grimes, Panic! at the Disco, Walk the Moon, Flume, Run the Jewels, Jason Isbell, Fetty Wap, Courtney Barnett, Leon Bridges, Big Grams (Big Boi and Phantogram), Foals, Kurt Vile and the Violators, The Neighbourhood, Alessia Cara, the Wailers, Vince Staples, Silversun Pickups, X Ambassadors, Mayer Hawthorne, Portugal. The Man, Bass Drum of Death, Moon Taxi and Bully.

The complete lineup is available to peruse on the Hangout website. The festival is slated to take place May 20th through the 22nd. Tickets go on sale November 19th at 10 a.m. CST, with three-day general admission passes priced at $249. VIP and Super VIP packages are also available for $1,099 and $1,599, respectively.

The Weeknd's headlining slot suggests the R&B star has no plans to slow down after a massive 2015. Not long after the Number One debut of his new album, Beauty Behind the Madness, the Weeknd headlined Jay Z's Made in America Festival, while he also scored major slots at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Festival.

Currently headlining his own North American tour, the Weeknd's live sets have improved significantly since his first major festival appearance at Coachella in 2012. "Coachella was the first show I did in the States, and I hated my performance," he told Rolling Stone in a recent cover story. "I was scared shitless. I got offstage and thought I did pretty good, then I watched the tape, and it was a nightmare. I saw all the comments, and I wanted to kill myself. I remember telling my agent, 'You need to book me as many shows as possible. That guy onstage is not a star. That's not a legend.'"

Missy Elliott Talks Nerves, Super Bowl and Making 'WTF' With Pharrell

Missy Elliott Talks Nerves, Super Bowl and Making 'WTF' With Pharrell:

Missy Elliott said she was cleaning her house, days after performing with Katy Perry at the 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show, when Pharrell called and urged her again to join him in the studio.

"Who turns down Pharrell?" the rapper said in a new interview with i-D. "He flew me to L.A. and he put me up and we got in the studio and he said, 'Yo! I got this crazy beat.' You know, Pharrell, he's very zen, very yoga, he's such a sweetheart. But this time, he was straight from the hood, like 'Yo, I got this crazy record for you, I already wrote my rap, I gotta get your bars now.'"

That beat became Elliott's ferocious, futuristic single, "WTF (Where They From)" which arrived last week. Despite the lengthy gap between her most recent singles (2012's Timbaland collaborations "9th Inning" and "Triple Threat") and LP (2005's The Cookbook), Missy sounded as fresh, dexterous and intergalactic as ever. But the rapper acknowledged some initial trepidation while making "WTF."

"When something is so hot, I don't want to just jump on it right away, I want to take it home and make sure I give it my best shot," she said. "[Pharrell] said 'Listen, just remember who you are. You've always been fun and animated and you have always made people want to dance. Look in the mirror so you can know who you are. It's time. It's your time.' That's how it happened."

Elsewhere, Elliott admitted her nerves had increased as more time passed following the release of The Cookbook. While her absence was further spurred by a 2011 diagnosis of Graves Disease, the rapper said she also began to question her place in a music universe filled with new sounds and stars.

"I felt like, 'How do I fit in?'" she said. "I'm battling. But then I never fit in! The whole time, I've never fit in! But it was still that battle. Do people still want to hear something creative and risky at this point? People might not be accepting of your music. So I battled that and I thank god for somebody like Pharrell who stayed in my ear."

Missy also offered "a thousand thank yous" to Katy Perry for helping reignite her comeback by asking her to join her at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2015. While Elliott said she expected to perform their remix of "Last Friday Night," she said Perry insisted the rapper choose her own set.

"She allowed me to perform my records, on her set and she said 'If you have a new record, you should perform it, this is the time to perform it,'" Elliott recalled. "At the time I had some records but I didn't feel as strong about them. I said I'd rather go out there and give them the classics."

Elliott has yet to announce a title or release date for her next record. But in a 2014 interview, Timbaland teased the long-gestating project as, "It's something you ain't never heard Missy do. It sounds today, but the future."

Ariana Grande Makes a Compelling Pitch for Her New Fragrance

Ariana Grande Makes a Compelling Pitch for Her New Fragrance:

Grande and her dog, Toulouse. Photo: YouTube
Though consumer interest in celebrity fragrances has largely waned, we were fiendishly excited when Ariana Grande announced that she would be gracing the world with a custom scent. Called "Ari by Ariana Grande," it promised to be "luscious," "sparkling" and "ultra-feminine." It would smell like marshmallows.

Over the weekend, Miss Grande dropped a promo video for the perfume, which conveniently serves as a teaser for her new single, "Focus," the official video for which fortuitously doubled as a Samsung commercial. Set in ye olde New York City — the 20th century, or something — Grande hops into a lavender cab en route to a red carpet event and gives an impromptu performance for her driver, Joe, a fedora-wearing sexagenarian who toes the line between being respectfully delighted and a little too admiring. But it's all good fun — he even awkwardly lip syncs along! Things just aren't as simple as they used to be.

We do know how much Grande loves singing to fans from her car, so big ups for realism. If you, like Joe, think her perfume offering is the bee's knees, you can go snap it up right this very moment at stores like Macy's and Ulta, or on the Internet.

The fashion industry shows solidarity in the face of terror attacks

In the wake of the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris, many fashion industry figures urged French citizens not to cower in the face of terrorism. Balmain's Olivier Rousteing stated, "We need to remember what happened on Nov. 13, but we also have to fight against it, to keep the hope, uphold our belief in freedom of speech and not be afraid." Meanwhile, Inès de La Fressange noted that the best revenge against "bloodthirsty cowards" would be "to continue to live with joy and freedom." In a similar vein, Pierre Bergé, the longtime business partner of Yves Saint Laurent, said, "We must not submit to terrorists. People must live their lives, go to school, visit the theater, visit the shops." {WWD}

President Obama Looks Great on His Second 'GQ' Men of the Year Cover

President Obama Looks Great on His Second 'GQ' Men of the Year Cover:

With just 13 months left of his term, President Barack Obama is back as the frontman of GQ's annual "Men of the Year" issue, a cover he was first awarded two months before he took office in Nov. 2008. Unveiled on Twitter on Tuesday morning, this cover is a special one as it celebrates the 20th anniversary of the magazine's "Men of the Year" issue. For the occasion, ESPN and Grantland alumnus Bill Simmons interviewed the 54-year-old POTUS on a number of topics ranging from health care to the top-secret Roswell, New Mexico files, the latter of which he calls "a little disappointing" (?!) and not "nearly as exciting as you expect" (???!!!).

As for the cover itself: With an unadventurous slate suit and colorless background, both Obama and GQ seem to be going for an aesthetic that's slightly more conservative than his last "Men of the Year" appearance. With seven years already logged in the Oval Office, he couldn't go for a blue tie? And though he may have a few more gray hairs than he did back in 2008, his toothy (extremely white!) smile remains unchanged.

The 20th anniversary issue of GQ "Men of the Year" hits newsstands in New York and L.A on Nov. 17 and nationwide on Nov. 24.

Blake Shelton on Gwen Stefani Duet, 'Voice' Strategy: The Ram Report

Blake Shelton on Gwen Stefani Duet, 'Voice' Strategy: The Ram Report:

It's an even playing field on The Voice tonight, as each coach enters the competition with three singers on their respective teams. But Blake Shelton is always strategizing to get the upper hand over fellow coaches Adam Levine, Pharrell and Gwen Stefani. And even though the No Doubt singer and country's most famous smart aleck are now officially a couple, Shelton says he won't be cutting his rock-star girlfriend any slack.

"No matter how kind I may be to Gwen when it's just her versus Adam, I'm still in this thing to win it," says Shelton, who nonetheless admits to a case of nerves now that the live shows have begun. "The [first live] episode and the finale are the two most nerve-wracking episodes for me every season, because you find out what your team is really made of as far as this kind of pressure," he says.

With Shelton and Stefani having already engaged in a prescient "Endless Love" lip-sync battle on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show, fans have been speculating that the pair will record a real duet. Shelton has been playing coy, however. "Man, I read that we wrote a duet together," he says. "I tell you, I read all kinds of amazing stuff."

One bit of news is confirmed, however. Once his obligations on The Voice are through, Shelton will hit the road on a winter tour with "Buy Me a Boat" singer Chris Janson in tow. The trek kicks off February 18th in Cincinnati.

Brantley Gilbert Postpones European Tour After Paris Attacks

Brantley Gilbert Postpones European Tour After Paris Attacks:

Following the deadly terrorist attacks that shook Paris on Friday, Brantley Gilbert has decided to put his European tour on hold.

"Out of respect for the lives lost in yesterdays terrorist attacks, we have decided to postpone the rest of our European dates," Gilbert posted on Facebook this weekend. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of France at this tragic time. WE WILL BE BACK."

Affected dates on Gilbert's Black Out Tour include shows in Glasgow, Scotland (November 17th); Manchester, England (November 18th); Birmingham, England (November 19th) and London (November 20th). The tour launched Wednesday in Amsterdam, visiting the German cities of Hamburg and Munich, but canceled a date in Stuttgart following the attacks. The Black Out Tour will kick off in the United States on January 28th with a show at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw, Michigan.

Singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves is also currently on tour in Europe, but so far has indicated that she plans to see it through. On November 15th, she tweeted, "Thanks for comin' sold out and strong tonight, Glasgow. We all needed some cheer. There's no way I'd cancel on you!" Musgraves has additional dates left in the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands.

Several other country and Americana artists will be making their way to Europe for tours starting in January, including the Cadillac Three, Lindi Ortega and Jason Isbell, who has a show booked in Paris on January 18th.

The six coordinated attacks, which left more than 100 dead, included a violent hostage situation at an Eagles of Death Metal concert and have prompted many performers to make changes to their tour schedules. Among them, Foo Fighters canceled a handful of remaining European show dates and U2 — who were scheduled to do a live broadcast of their November 14th show in Paris via HBO — postponed upcoming shows.

On the Charts: Chris Stapleton's 'Traveller' Number One Again

On the Charts: Chris Stapleton's 'Traveller' Number One Again:

Chris Stapleton continued to feel the sales afterglow of his huge, breakthrough CMA Awards night as the country singer's Traveller spent its second consecutive week atop the Billboard 200. Released back in May, Traveller sold 124,000 total units in the first full week following its Album of the Year win at the CMAS on November 4th, a night that also featured Stapleton winning Best New Artist and performing alongside Justin Timberlake.

Traveller also becomes only the second LP released in 2015 to reach Number One in consecutive weeks, joining Luke Bryan's Kill the Lights, Billboard reports. Adele's 25 will no doubt join that exclusive club and then some when that album arrives November 20th.

Eric Church's surprise album Mr. Misunderstood jumped one spot to Number Two as it sold 65,000 copies in its first full week on shelves. Ellie Goulding's Delirium was the week's highest-charting new release, placing Number Three with 61,000 total copies sold. The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness finished the week at Number Four while Tim McGraw's Damn Country Music debuted at Number Five.

The Beatles' remastered, restocked best-of compilation 1+ reentered the Billboard 200 at Number Six with 39,000 copies sold. The rest of the Top Ten was fleshed out by the Now 56 collection (Seven), Fetty Wap's self-titled (Eight), Carrie Underwood's Storyteller (Nine) and, in its debut week, Sara Bareilles' What’s Inside: Songs From Waitress, which sold 30,000 copies on its way to Number 10.

Next week, the victor in the much-ballyhooed sales matchup between Justin Bieber's Purpose and One Direction's Made in the A.M. will be announced. As of Saturday, Billboard gave Bieber a slight edge, and as of press time, Purpose is outpacing the British quartet as Number One on the iTunes Top Albums chart. It will be a short reign for whoever wins, as Adele's 25 swoops in Friday to save the music industry.

Watch Mac Miller Go 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin During Encore

Watch Mac Miller Go 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin During Encore:

If you would like an encore from Mac Miller, gimme a "Hell Yeah."

In September, the rapper returned with a new album, GO:OD AM, and he's currently on the road in support of it. We're not really sure how "Stone Cold" Steve Austin fits into all of that, but it didn't stop Miller from paying tribute to the WWE legend during a recent show in Santa Cruz, California.

After finishing his set, the crowd showered Miller with chants for an encore – you know, standard concert behavior. Mac obliged, of course, though he returned to the stage with Austin's theme music blaring in the background, grabbed a couple of Steveweisers and quickly downed them before dishing out a Stone Cold's finisher, the Stunner, to his hypeman before calling it a night and running off stage.

Also, props to said hypeman for selling the move like the Rock. All that's missing are Jim Ross' caterwauls.

@MacMiller pulling a stone cold performance tonight!!! pic.twitter.com/syrr0Mux4Y
— Danny Plascencia (@PlascenciaDanny) November 14, 2015

For his next encore, maybe Mac will break out a beer truck? Or who knows, maybe he'll bring out the actual Stone Cold for a tag-team match against Bill Goldberg – currently accusing Austin of not actually drinking 13 beers in one sitting (or something like that) – and a partner of his choosing? Shoot, at this point, we're willing to bet the Texas Rattlesnake would rather do anything to make him forget that the Dallas Cowboys never returned his calls.
